Privacy Policy
Quran Firdaus is a free Qur'an reading app built by Arifin Firdaus, on every platform it ships on. The short version: there are no user accounts, nothing you type, bookmark, or save ever leaves your device, and the only things the app fetches from the internet are the public list of reciters and the audio you choose to stream — never anything that identifies you.
What stays on your device
Everything you create while using the app is stored locally only — Core Data / SwiftData on iOS, iPadOS, and macOS; Room and DataStore on Android:
- Bookmarks and your reading position ("Continue Reading")
- Verses you've marked as personally meaningful
- Saved Dua and your chosen Dua theme filters
- Your app language, Qur'an font, and reciter preference
- Notification schedule and widget configuration
- Reading statistics used for the For You tab's most-visited chapters
None of this is uploaded anywhere. Uninstalling the app removes all of it.
What the app fetches from the internet
| Request | Why | Personal data sent |
|---|---|---|
| Reciter catalog | To list the 150+ available reciters in Settings | None |
| Audio streaming | To play the recitation you selected | None |
Both requests are anonymous, public-content fetches — the same kind of request your browser makes to load a public web page. Quran Firdaus has no user accounts, no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, and no crash-reporting SDK, on any platform — so no usage data, device identifiers, or personal information are collected or shared with anyone.
Permissions
The app may request notification permission, for scheduled verse reminders you enable yourself.
On AndroidAndroid only, the app may also ask for an exemption from battery optimization so audio keeps playing after your screen locks. You're always asked before either permission takes effect, and both can be turned off again in Settings at any time.
Security
Since nothing personal is collected, there's nothing personal at risk of exposure — your data lives in your device's own app-private storage, protected the same way the operating system protects any app's local data.
Children's Privacy
Quran Firdaus does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect personal information from any user, on any platform.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy ever changes — for example, if a future version adds a feature that does collect data — this page will be updated and the effective date above will change accordingly.
